Determination of vertical anisotropy in tensile tests using the DD1 Strain Transducer
The article describes a method for the automatic continual determination of r and it also gives the hardening exponent n if additional measurement of the testing force is carried out.
The vertical anisotropy r is an important material parameter in the cold forming of metals. It can be found, for example, from the ratio of the change in width to the change in length for a strip sample under uniaxial tension.
The article describes a method for the automatic continual determination of r and it also gives the hardening exponent n if additional measurement of the testing force is carried out. Deformation measurements are made both in the longitudinal and transverse directions using DD1 Strain Transducers. The signals from the transducers are passed via 5 kHz CF measuring amplifiers and an A/D converter to a microcomputer where the results are evaluated.
