Weighing electronics determines truck loads reliably and with high accuracy
Complete check-in and check-out scales for trucks can be easily implemented using HBM’s new DIS2116 digital weighing electronics and C16i digi-tal load cells.
Be innovative with HBM. Complete check-in and check-out scales for trucks can be easily implemented using HBM’s new DIS2116 digital weighing electronics and C16i digi-tal load cells. In legal-for-trade mode, data is encrypted for transfer from the load cells to the DIS2116. HBM is the first provider so far to comply with the latest requirements of the MID EC directive (eg implemented in WELMEC 7.2) for manipulation-safe data trans-fer from the transducer to the downstream electronics.
Save time. The weighing electronics is easy to install as only a few software commands are needed to integrate the DIS2116 into a host system. All information required for le-gal-for-trade applications – such as dates, gross, net, tare, manual tare – are held inter-nally. Therefore your downstream software no longer requires any special legal-for-trade functions.
DIS2116 features electronic off-center load compensation so that only a single mass on each corner of the truck scales is needed for calibration to compensate mechanical corner errors. This takes only a few minutes compared with the two to three hours required for off-center load compensation on conventional analog systems. Therefore, it often be-comes unnecessary to laboriously climb down into the weighing machine pit.
Save money. Internal checking functions will forecast likely maintenance on the me-chanical parts of truck scales in advance to ensure high availability.
The DIS2116 weighing electronics provides data storage and has a number of interfaces to suit all applications. These include three RS232 ports, an USB port, an PS2 port and an RS-485 port for connecting load cells, as well as an optional Anybus port for connection to industrial fieldbus systems such as Ethernet, Profibus, etc.
An SD memory card can be used for storage of all settings such as calibration parame-ters and the legal-for-trade alibi memory. This makes it easy to transfer scale parame-ters to a new unit by simply exchanging the SD card.
The largest weighing device that can be supported at present is a platform with three segments and eight C16i load cells per segment. Digital C16i load cells are available from stock for maximum capacities from 20 t to 60 t.
