The application of pressure transducers to water catchment for the Sellrain-Silz Power Scheme in the Tyrol, Austria
The Tiroler Wasserkraftwerke AG operates the Sellrain-Silz Hydroelectric Power Scheme which takes water from a catchment area covering a large part of the Alpine region in northern Stubai.
The Tiroler Wasserkraftwerke AG operates the Sellrain-Silz Hydroelectric Power Scheme which takes water from a catchment area covering a large part of the Alpine region in northern Stubai. Special intakes located at streams within the catchment area divert some of the stream water to the power scheme's reservoirs.
The intakes, which operate automatically, only take a specified amount of water from the streams, so minimizing the effect of the water extraction on the environment. Extensive use is made of HBM equipment to monitor the water quantities involved.
