Scaling Methods


PMX Adjustment Assistant

This Tech Note gives you an instruction on how to adjust a sensor with the PMX. There are two approaches available to adjust sensors using the PMX: A reference channel from the PMX can be used, or a reference value can be entered manually.

PMX Matrix Compensation

This Tech Note will give you an explanation on how to compensate the cross talk of measured values by using matrix compensation. In this example a multicomponent transducer is used, which is able to measure force values within all degrees of freedom.

PMX CASMA-Filter

Here you will be given an instruction on how to take the mean of a noisy torque signal with the use of the CASMA-filter (Crank Angle Sampled Moving Average). It works with angular synchronism and is time independent, which makes it able to react to changes of the revolution speed. The PMX provides an own calculated channel for this purpose.

PMX with Siemens PLC and ProfiNet

This Tech Note gives you an instruction on how to create a project with Siemens Tia Portal which connects the PMX to a Siemens PLC. Furthermore, you will be provided with a short explanation on how to monitor measurements from the PMX in Tia Portal. Basic knowledge about ProfiNet connections and the PMX is recommended.

PMX with Beckhoff PLC and EtherCat

Here you will be provided with an instruction on how to create a project with TwinCAT which connects the PMX to a Beckhoff PLC. Furthermore, there is a short explanation given on how to monitor measurements from the PMX in TwinCat. Basic knowledge about ProfiNet connections and the PMX is recommended.

This is a guide to creating a project using RSLogix5000 that connects the PMX to an Allen-Bradley controller over Ethernet / IP. This Tech Note will provide you with an instruction on how to determine the force introduction point on a plate with three force transducers.

PMX as PID controller

Here you will be given an instruction on how to create a PID controller with the PMX. In this particular example a simple RC circuit first order is controlled. To demonstrate a repetitive process a periodic signal is generate by the internal signal generator of the PMX. This signal is exemplary for any process and can be exchange by other signals (e.g. from sensors).
