Field Applications Engineer for HBM UK
HBM is a well-respected manufacturer of advanced instrumentation, Electro-mechanical sensors and software. The main markets are currently automotive, aerospace, energy, industrial and weighing technology. The vacancy is primarily supporting HBM UK customers after sales service. This is a very exciting time for the company – more than 25% of sales come from product developed in the last 3 years, and continued growth is a strong part of HBM culture.
Following the continued growth of HBM sales and support contracts, a vacancy has become open for a field applications engineer to cover the field support & calibration of HBM products in the UK. The role will be challenging and varied, and requires someone able to plan and structure their own work after the introduction period. Be self-dependent, organized and accurate, but must also be flexible and be able to change plans with short notice and creatively find solutions to new situations. They must be able to work independently but at the same time be a part of and contribute to the team and the company. The role has great potential to develop good customer relations and to increase future sales at each customer. Target role or functions would include Engineer, service engineer, project engineer.
The Profile requirements
Technical qualifications to degree level in an Engineering discipline would be viewed highly, although to an extent can be substituted for relevant experience, providing the applicant can show an ability and willingness to learn and develop and has a willingness to travel. Regular travel to office in Harrow will be required. Applications support experience in dealing with complex engineering systems and software is also essential, and BSSM qualified strain gauge installation and or experience would be significant advantage. An energetic and enthusiastic engineer looking for a field role with the ability to organize their own time and add value to the HBM UK team is essential. Comfortable using standard office tools, excel, word and power point etc. Good communication skills are essential, Written and verbal English on a professional level.
To help with this process, the successful applicant will undergo an initial period of product training at our manufacturing headquarters in Germany (1~2 weeks). This is backed up by regular ongoing training sessions for new product launches etc.
