A detailed description about your Industrial Ethernet Gateway can be found in the CX27 user manuals QuantumX CX27C and SomatXR CX27C-R.
Integration
QuantumX and SomatXR can easily be integrated into test-benches and other DAQ software in different ways. In addition, it is still possible to stream data also to our DAQ software catman to store the original data stream in a second way.
How do you want to integrate your module?
Integration via Industrial Ethernet (EtherCAT® or PROFINET)
Integration via CAN
Integration via voltage output
Integration via XCP-on-Ethernet
1. Integration via Industrial Ethernet (EtherCAT® or PROFINET)
Connect all modules via FireWire to CX27C/-R, which offers an output to Industrial Ethernet and an optional output to a PC to store the data in parallel with catman.
The setup is done with the free MX Assistant:
- Set all source signals to isochronous mode
- Assign source signals automatically or manually to the EtherCAT or PROFINET outputs
- Generate setup file (*.esi for EtherCAT or *.gdsml for PROFINET)
- Import setup file in test bench software
2. Integration via CAN
Connect all modules via FireWire to MX471C/-R, which offers 4 interfaces to CAN and/or CAN FD and an optional output to a PC to store the data in parallel with catman.
The setup is done with the free MX Assistant:
- Set all source signals to isochronous mode
- Assign source signals manually to the output messages, multiple signals can be assigned to one CAN message especially in case of CAN FD
- Generate CAN database file (*.dbc)
- Import CAN database file into test bench software
3. Integration via voltage output
Connect all modules via FireWire to MX878B or MX879B, which offer each 8 voltage outputs. In case you use many output channels it is recommended to use the MX878B/MX879B in a backplane.
The setup is done with the free MX Assistant:
- Set all source signals to isochronous mode
- Assign source signals manually to the analog outputs
- Start working with your test bench software
4. Integration via XCP-on-Ethernet
Connect all modules via FireWire to CX27C/-R, which offers output to XCP-on-Ethernet and an optional output to a PC to store the data in parallel with catman. With XCP-on-Ethernet you can integrate all QuantumX/SomatXR signals into an MCD tool chain. Details about this can be found here.
The setup is done with the free MX Assistant:
- Set all source signals to isochronous mode
- Assign source signals automatically or manually to the XCP-on-Ethernet outputs
- Generate setup file (*.a2l)
- Import setup file in MCD software
