One of the most crucial points when doing a residual stress analysis is the calculation of the results, starting from the measured strains. The hole drilling method provides a very well-known calculation in accordance with the ASTM E837 standard. There are also additional options that have been developed in recent years, each one having advantages and disadvantages.
