As complex ECUs in vehicles require more and more bandwidth, the CAN bus reaches its limits. This problem is being addressed with the introduction of CAN FD (Flexible Data Rate CAN). CAN FD offers a higher transmission rate and more user data per message than CAN.
Data acquisition systems must be able to detect signals from this new bus as well as record the data of the vehicle in addition to the analog signals during mobile load data acquisition. On the basis of mobile data acquisition on a test site, we will discuss how this integration takes place in data acquisition systems.
