The following diagram shows the fatigue life of electrical strain gauges for load cycles between 1000 and 10,000,000 for Y- and M-Series gauges. The maximum achievable values depend on different factors such as the installation quality.
- The correlation between load cycles and maximum load amplitude is not linear at all (logarithmic scaling).
- All values are mean values of a static test
- A specific zero-point shift is tolerated for all measured values (see strain gauge PDF catalog)
- With HBM's M-Series even 100,000,000 (100. mio) load cycles are achievable with a load amplitude of 1000 µm/m.
