The position

We are currently looking for an Embedded Software Architect for our team in Darmstadt. Our new Embedded Software Architect will be responsible for aligning the architecture of our embedded software across our platforms. Taking responsibility for recognizing and implementing future trends in embedded software, the architect will consult and drive the development teams during implementation. The architect’s role includes hands-on development to stay close to the developers. Joining an agile company, you will work over scrum teams located across our European sites as an architect according to SAFe®. You will join our Instruments R&D department supporting innovation as a technology expert with a quality mindset.

  • Aligning with architects, product managers, product owners and developers


Professional qualifications

You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Furthermore, you have minimum 5 years of documented experience with embedded software development. You have gained experience as an architect or driving/managing teams. You are passionate about trends in embedded software and have a deep understanding of operating systems. Experience in real-time data processing is a plus. You like challenging and being challenged with new ideas. You enjoy abstract thinking and you are a quick learner. You can transport the architectural vision to engineers and ensure realization from idea to production.

  • System architecture (Bootloader, Memory, Updates)
  • Processor architecture (Cache, Execution Pipelines, multi-core)
  • Network protocols
  • Security infrastructure
  • Good written and spoken English and German
