IMEKO 2020 - Confederación Internacional de la Medida IMEKO 2020 - Confederación Internacional de la Medida | HBM

Please note:

Due to the spread of the corona virus, the conference was postponed. The new dates will be announced soon.

IMEKO 2020 – Forum for International Metrological Organizations

“IMEKO”, the International Measurement Confederation, is the most important international forum for metrologists and metrological organizations. Founded in 1958, in Budapest, Hungary, it has 42 national metrological organizations. Scientists from all over the world use this forum to exchange knowledge about the traceability of measured quantities, and aim at ensuring that their "National Standard” corresponds exactly to those of the other countries, ensuring uniformity of traceability of measured quantities.

The basic objectives of IMEKO are to promote the international exchange of scientific and technical information in the fields of metrology and instrumentation as well as to enhance international cooperation between these scientists and engineers in the industry.

HBM, as a manufacturer of high-precision measurement technology, has contributed to the work of IMEKO since 1973. The forum is an early indicator of future development trends in test and measurement technology and is thus of high importance.

At this year’s event, HBM and Brüel & Kjær will be represented together under the HBK brand.

Calibration Systems Presented at IMEKO 2020 Conference Under the HBK Brand

According to Frost & Sullivan, mechanical calibration systems are the second largest group of all calibration systems and have the biggest growth expectation for the future. Brüel & Kjær Sound and Vibration (BKSV) and Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH (HBM), both have mechanical calibration systems in their portfolio. By joining forces, the businesses have become the largest provider in the market.

HBM´s flagship amplifier DMP41 is the world´s most precise amplifier for strain gauge-based measurements. High precision electronics and reference transducers for force, torque and pressure complete the high precision measuring chains. On the BKSV side a major milestone is the standardization of vibration calibration systems, representing the biggest portion of calibration systems at Brüel & Kjær. The company additionally offers, among others, calibration systems for microphones and sound level meters.

Scientific conferences provide the opportunity for international interchange of scientific and technical information. Since IMEKO is the leading event in the field of measurement and instrumentation and enables businesses to network with metrologists, National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) and accredited bodies, HBK will be represented at the 2020 Dubrovnik event. HBK was the first exhibitor to register. Scientific presentations will be held by a delegation representing both HBM and BKSV.
