Installing an eDAQXR conditoning layer on the EXRCPU

Unlike legacy eDAQ layers, no jumpers must be set in the eDAQXR conditioning layers (such as the EXRBRG) for a unique layer address.

Recommended tools: 2.5mm ball hex driver (SO-123-1003006)

  1. Power off the eDAQXR EXRCPU and disconnect the power supply.
  2. Remove the eight (8) M3 8mm hex head screws (A) and the lid (B) from the top layer.
  3. In the hole (C) in the rear left corner of the layer, install the M3 stud (D) (SO-227-1002764 is included with each eDAQXR conditioning layer).
  4. The M3 stud (D) aids alignment of communication connectors (E) and power connectors (F). Carefully align the pins and connectors and install the conditioning layer using eight (8) M3 8mm hex head screws (A).

NOTE
If layers are disassembled, always remove and retain the M3 stud before installing the lid.

  1. Install the lid (B) using the eight (8) M3 8mm screws (A).
  2. Connect the EXRCPU to an 8–36 VDC power supply using the power cable (1-EXR-PWR-PT-2). The system is now ready for use.

After installation, internal communications are established with the CPU so new layers show in the Test configuration > Hardware view.
