New online autumn courses now available

October 2020

HBK has launched its latest virtual training course line up to provide a wide range of test and measurement know-how for engineers, acousticians and consultants.

For those involved with test and measurement equipment, this includes a session called Measuring Torque Correctly. Composed of two variables, torque can be a difficult measurement to carry out. The torque sensor usually operates under rotation, which further complicates set up. This course provides attendees with the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to master this tool.

There’s also a course about Measuring with Strain Gauges, which shows delegates how to perform measurements correctly. Attendees will learn about the correct compensation of temperature effects, different connection variants of strain gauges and much more.

A range of courses centred around durability and fatigue engineering features topics such as nCode DesignLife: Fatigue Analysis of Welded Structures. Welding is a commonly used method of joining materials, such as metals, but the process means that the welds generally have a fatigue strength inferior to the parent metal. This course investigates fatigue life prediction methods for welded structures.

Under the same category is Correlating CAE Results with Test Data, which highlights issues and demonstrates how to correlate physical test data using nCode software. Experimental testing has historically helped engineers evaluate component performance and estimate a product’s functional life. These CAE predictions need to be correlated with experimental data to strengthen confidence in the predicted results. This instructor-led course covers the best methods for test and CAE correlation.

There are many sound and vibration courses too, including Fundamentals of Sound and Vibration, which provides an introduction to the physical aspects of sound and vibration phenomena, parameters used to describe them, plus basic test and measurement techniques.

Introduction to Modal Testing and Analysis is a four-day virtual course providing an introduction to the principles of modal testing and analysis; from basic definitions to more advanced applications.

Further information, prices and HBK’s full webinar calendar is available on the company’s website.
