Webinar: How to Properly Install Strain Gauges

Date & Time:

Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10 am (CET Berlin)

In order for a strain gauge to deliver an accurate measurement, it must be properly installed onto the measuring object. However, different materials require different installation procedures. This webinar will guide you through the steps that have to be considered when installing strain gauges – from understanding the requirements of the underlying material to the preparation of the surface and finally to the choice of the right adhesive.

HBM product manager Dirk Eberlein, an expert in the field of strain gauges, guides you through this 30-minute webinar:

  • Learn practical tips and tricks for installing strain gauges and benefit from HBM's decades of experience
  • Get to know the procedures for preparing the materials' surfaces (different materials such as metals, plastics, concrete or wood require slightly different preparations)
  • Learn which optical and electrical tests can be carried out after having installed the strain gauges

Note that the special requirements of installing strain gauges in transducer construction can not be considered in this webinar. If you have specific questions, please contact the host directly.
