Strain Gauges for a beautiful smile

Strain gauges can be used for measuring almost anything, even the strain in dental braces.

Today, strain gauges are being used in research into new, more efficient approaches to dental treatment, including individualizing the adjustment of the expansion screw used to tighten braces.   

Linn Bieske decided to submit the idea to the German "Jugend forscht" (youth research) scientific contest using  strain gauges from HBM. Watch our video to learn more about this interesting project.
