Special force transducers for verifying material testing machines

Material testing machines must be tested to ensure that they are working properly. This is the only way to guarantee the reproducibility of test results. Testing machines that are verified using special transducers from HBM generally show comparatively smaller variations.

Compressive (KD) and tensile (STZ) force transducers

Transducers of the KD and STZ type series are used for verifying material testing machines and have been designed to comply with the requirements of ISO 376. They are compressive (KD) and tensile (STZ) force transducers, with a maximum overall height that makes them suitable for verifying material testing machines in accordance with ISO 7500-1. Class 05 per ISO 376 is guaranteed for both types, provided that a DAkkS calibration certificate per ISO 376 is ordered from HBM at the same time.

Type KDB strain cylinder for verifying concrete testing machines

The KDB transducer for verifying concrete testing machines is a special version of the KD type series.  It is a strain cylinder for verifying concrete testing machines and allows the strain cylinder test method for compression testing machines for concrete per DIN 51302-2 or EN 12390-4 to be implemented. Class 05 per ISO 376 is also guaranteed for this type, provided that a DAkkS calibration certificate per ISO 376 is ordered from HBM at the same time.

It is possible to check centric force application and the free movement of the upper compression plate, as well as the locking of its spherical bearing.

Since the standard applies to 2 MN, the transducer is only available in 2 MN (= 2000 kN).
