Step-by-step Tutorial on Strain Gauge Welding
The following steps outline the installation procedure to provide an overview of how to install a weldable strain gauge:
1. First, clean the surface. Remove bigger impurities by an emery paper to ensure that the surface is purely metallic (which is important for the welding process)
2. Position the strain gauge on the steel surface
3. Position the pistol of the spot welding device on the gauge carrier, and perform the spot welding by pulling the trigger
4. Attach the strain gauge carrier to the metal surface with a series of small welding spots, as shown in the welding spots pattern below
